After twenty successful years as general manager / chief executive of various high-tech businesses, he founded his business consultancy, Guenier Ltd., in early 1995. Assignments have included Chief Executive of the Central Computing and Telecommunications Agency, reporting at ministerial level to the U.K. Cabinet Office, and Executive Director of Taskforce 2000, a non-profit body set up by the British Government to communicate awareness and understanding of the millennium computer problem. His current activities include chairmanship of Medix Group plc, an organisation using current technology to provide a revolutionary business tool for the pharmaceutical industry by means of an innovative service for medical practitioners. He advises other new technology businesses, also largely related to healthcare. Since 1996, he has been a regular contributor to TV and radio and has had speaking engagements throughout the world. In 1998, he was voted “IT Personality of the Year” by readers of Computer Weekly and, in 1999, received the award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” at the Computing Awards for Excellence. He maintains a wide network of international contacts, particularly in North America. Until 1999, Guenier was a member of the Inmarsat Partnership (concerned with global satellite communications) and, since 1995, has been an Associate of Technology Consulting Ltd.
