With an impressive academic record to include an MBA in lean thinking and supply chain management, an honours degree in psychology, and post graduate qualifications in finance and social science, Stuart excels as an ambassador in his field. Stuart opened Vanguard.s Scottish office seven years ago and has committed himself to intensive training, following both academic and experiential pathways. Stuart set out in his academic study to gain an understanding of the reasons for dysfunctional behavior in organizations. In addition to academic qualifications Stuart has studied with a number of other organizations, such as the Goldratt Institute (theory of constraints) and with the former head of the Kaizen Institute in the UK, his goal being to excel in organizational understanding. Stuart has also collaborated with the University of Lancashire on a longitudinal study of the current levels of stress and motivation in the public sector. Stuart is also a member of the institute of purchasing and supply by examination.

Experience in the public sector includes consultation to the police force, the Crown office, the court service and local councils. In terms of private sector experience Stuart has worked with some of the largest names in financial services, world leading manufacturing companies and several household brand names, for organizations ranging as far as billion pound insurance companies to small manufacturers.
