After setting up his own club, he quickly established a big reputation on the London comedy circuit. He was soon writing for radio programmes such as Weekending and Loose Ends and in demand as a warm-up man for TV shows such as Have I Got News For You. It was while doing this that Lee was asked to take part in the pilots for They Think It’s All Over. As a regular panellist, Lee became a household name for his impromptu interviews with unwitting sportspeople and predictably one-sided exchanges with the likes of Gary Lineker and David Gower. With the success of They Think It’s All Over, Lee fronted ITV’s prime-time weekend show Saturday Live in 1996 and more recently he created and performed on Channel 5’s new comedy quiz show Bring me the Head of Light Entertainment. However, despite all his TV work, Lee feels most at home in front of a live audience and likes to do as much performing as possible having finished a lengthy national tour at the end of last year. He still works the London circuit and particularly loves his place as a regular on The Comedy Store’s weekly Cutting Edge. He has recently opened his own club BACKYARD comedy club and is developing his presenting carrer on TV with Salvage Team.
